The Swan Valley Stampeders Drop Fourth Straight Game, Lose 7-0 To Steinbach Friday Night

The Swan Valley Stampeders dropped their fourth straight game Friday night, losing 7-0 to the Steinbach Pistons.

Swan Valley was outshot 25-2 in the first period but, what you may not have seen was the stellar play of Elias Giaccari-Dimitriou. The 18-year-old Montreal, QC goaltender put on a clinic, turning aside 24 of those shots and standing extremely tall in the Stampeder net. Ultimately it was the constant pressure by the Pistons that allowed them to score the games first goal at 5:15 of the first period.

Former Stampeder and Swan River, MB product Trey Sauder gave his new team a 2-0 lead at 8:04 of the second period. Brandon Funk added another 50 seconds later, Kirk Mullen scored another at 14:27 and Leo Chambers wired one home at 19:34 of the middle frame to give the Pistons a 5-0 lead after 40 minutes of play.

Sauder added his second of the game at 5:55 and Shane Burns scored at 16:02 of the third period and the Pistons cruised to a 7-0 win.
