Stamps falter in second, fall 7-4 on Saturday night
Though you could make an argument they were the better team in the first and third period, the Stampeders’ rough middle frame saw them fall 7-4 to the Nighthawks on Saturday night.
The Stampeders would open the scoring on a Trace Langan breakaway goal to make it 1-0, Niverville would waste no time in tying the game just seconds after. Minutes later, the Stampeders found themselves on a power-play which saw Crosby Harrison put a shot on and have the puck go off of Ethan MacTavish for a 2-1 lead.
Niverville would tie it late in the first to make it 2-2 for the second period. The middle frame saw one pinch changed the momentum, as Niverville scored five goals in the second period to take a 7-2 lead. The Stampeders were able to get back on track with another power-play goal by MacTavish to make it 7-3.
The third saw MacTavish score again but it was too little too late, as the Nighthawks held on for a 7-4 win.
Next; The Stamps hit the road to Neepawa on Wednesday, Nov. 26 for a 7:30 pm clash with the Titans.
