Stampeders Hold AGM Wednesday July 15, 2020

Swan River, MB – The Swan Valley Stampeders Junior “A” Hockey Club Inc. held their Annual General Meeting Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at the Westwood Inn.

President Pat Morden opened the evening thanking all fans, corporate sponsors, volunteers, the board of directors, marketing, the team, and all staff on an unbelievable season, despite it being cut short due to COVID-19. He went on to thank everyone in attendance as we all move safely through the current COVID-19 pandemic.

The Stampeders reported a substantial loss this year, mainly due to a decrease in ticket sales, the inability to hold a spring camp, loss of playoff revenue, and fundraising falling short thanks in part to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Important Numbers (Revenue) – keeping in mind the Stamps run to the Turnbull Cup league final the season prior.

Income 2019/2020 Season

Ticket Sales – $72,139, down from $132,308 in 2018/19.

Corporate Sponsorship – $123,139, grew by $12,516.

Game Night Events – $33,845, down from $81,059

Fundraising Events –$157,060

Total Revenue $391,346

In the end, the Stampeders went on to report they ended the 2019-2020 season with a $80,906 deficit.

Following the AGM Wednesday night, Pat Morden stepped down as President of the Board of Directors. Cramer Coulthart was voted in and will assume the role of President / Governor of the team. Warren Clark returned to the board after a year absence and has taken over the role of Vice President. Keera Coulthart was announced as the team treasurer, and Brian Gilroy resumes his role as secretary.  Other board members include Trevor Warburton, Pat Morden, Rod Pidskalny, Jarrett Mosiondz, Kim Kosokowsky, Pat Harness, Danielle Gordon-Broome, and Rhonda Mills.
