Stamps look to continue winning ways against Blizzard and Monarchs
After three weeks of having three games in every single week, the Stampeders will finally get some well deserved prep time for two games this coming weekend, as they take on the Northern Manitoba Blizzard and Winnipeg Monarchs.
Although the busy schedule was a tiresome workload for the young Stampeder group, the team came together and managed to go 7-2 in the nine game span, and having gone 8-2 in their last 10 games. A small hiccup to the Winkler Flyers on Saturday seen their four game win streak get snapped, but now it’s time for a fresh new look for this week.
The Stamps will begin against the NorMan Blizzard, as they’ll make the trek to The Pas on Friday morning, for an afternoon matinee against the Blizzard for their school game. Swan has played the Blizzard 3 times this season, and currently lead the season series 2-1 and have beaten the Blizzard in back to back meetings. With the Blizzard behind them in the standings, these games are very important for the Stampeders to get some much needed ground on the teams ahead of them.
Swan will then finish the season series against the Winnipeg Monarchs on Saturday inside the Swan River Centennial Arena at 7 pm. Swan has been able to defeat the Monarchs all 3 meetings, and will try go for the season sweep on Saturday.
With 15 games to go in the regular season, the need for points continues to ramp up for the Stampeders, who have done a very good job of closing the gap on their win/loss ratio. One thing’s for certain, if you’re a Stamps fan, get down to the rink and watch the Stampeders, as this is going to be a very exciting push to make the 2026 Turnbull Cup Playoffs, something that hasn’t been in the Valley since 2023.
