Swan Valley Star & Times – Weekly Roundup

Stamps look to get back on track

The Stampeders will look to try and turn things around this week as they welcome the Dauphin Kings and Niverville Nighthawks to town for only two games this week.

The Kings currently lead the West Division with a 12-6-1-0 record, just one point ahead of Virden. However, the Kings are 2-4 in their last six games and have struggled to keep the puck out of their net. However, they’ve won back to back games against two tough teams in Neepawa and Selkirk and will most definitely bring the heat into Swan on Wednesday, Nov. 19 at 7 pm.

On Saturday, the Stamps will welcome the best team in the MJHL to town, the Niverville Nighthawks. The Nighthawks have only lost 1 game this season and currently are on a 12 game winning streak.  They’re only loss came to a 5-1 loss to the Dauphin Kings back on Oct. 12. Niverville has three players that are among the league leaders in scoring, and also have the best goaltender in the MJHL in Austin Dubinsky.

Wednesday against the Kings will be the Ag Appreciation Night for the Stampeders, hosted by New Era Ag! Get your tickets and get ready for another action packed week of Stampeders Hockey.
